About Robbie Stephens / Hemingway Road

My band, Hemingway Road, was started in 2010 by myself and a friend (Michael Barnes) who both had the passion of creating strong, lyrical music and sharing it with the world. Our goal is to put the importance of lyricism back into music. Today's popular music seems to be based around catchy beats and melodies and appears to lack substance when it comes to lyrics. Our music is built around the lyrics instead of the other way around.

I have, since we started this band, always played our live shows using an Ovation Celebrity Super Shallow guitar (Trans. Black Flame color). I will also continue to use Ovations because they are different from anything else out there. Their shape and feel and visual asthetics they give to myself and the audience match my feelings towards going against the grain and making my own path in a world that tends to follow the current trends.

I believe I should be Ovation's Hometown Hero because I have the passion and drive to pursue the constant effort of writing strong lyrical music and creating something different that the world has yet to hear. Teaming with Ovation would only fuel that ambition and determination along even further.
