DJ Ashba’s love affair with music began at the age of 3.  His mother, a classical pianist, taught DJ about music and how to play piano – and before the age of 10, along with piano, DJ was also playing drums and guitar.  Growing up under the care of his religious mother in a home without television, DJ would often spend 17 hours a day practicing his guitar.  As a 16th birthday gift, his father took him to his first concert:  Motley Crue’s “Girls Girls Girls” tour.  From that one moment, his life changed.  At 19, DJ packed up his minivan and headed to Hollywood, CA to begin his musical endeavors.

DJ is best known as co-founder of the hard rock bands Sixx AM and Beautiful Creatures.  He co-wrote and co-produced Sixx AM’s “Heroin Diaries” soundtrack, featuring the insanely popular hit, “Life Is Beautiful.”  In addition, DJ co-wrote and co-produced Motley Crue’s Grammy nominated 2008 release, “Saints of Los Angeles”.  He has also collaborated with Neil Diamond, Drowning Pool, Marion Raven and Aimee Allen, among many other well respected and talented musicians.

In 2009, Axl Rose announced that DJ signed on as guitarist for the legendary band, Guns N’ Roses.  “Guns’ radar has silently been aware of DJ’s presence for quite some time!  He brings a fresh approach to our particular brand of mayhem expanding the tapestry of Guns N’ Roses live.  Once DJ’s name was in the hat, the hat disappeared!!”, says Rose.  DJ is currently on the road with Guns for the 2010 Chinese Democracy World Tour.
