With musical roots hailing from the East Tennessee Mountains, Seth Blevins brings a style of his own. Seth’s musical heritage links back to his cousin Hank Garland an A-Team guitarist in Nashville that worked with Elvis Presley, Patsy Cline, Roy Orbison & many other top name artists throughout his career. Seth comes from a family of musicians whose styles range from Celtic mountain music, Bluegrass to Rhythm & Blues. From his Father to his 8th GG Grandfathers, John Jack Blevins and Samuel Garland, (Tennessee Pioneers), it is documented through the Tennessee Historical Society that Seth is not only a member of the “First Families of Tennessee”, but his DNA is made up of an Irish Welsh Cherokee musical heritage.
By virtue of shredding guitar in the styles of Steve Vai and Rusty Cooley, Seth wanted to take another approach to music, a “Contemporary Acoustic Journey”. It was after listening to acoustic players like Tommy Emmanuel, Antoine Dufour and other guitarist known for their unusual two-handed picking style that lured Seth to begin a expedition of creativity with the acoustic guitar.
With (focused energy) and a feeling of something new on the horizon, Seth began writing intricate and passionate solo fingerstyle pieces. His unique blend of aggressive melodic freestyle acoustic guitar playing combines a mixture of Gypsy and Flamenco that’s as fresh and breathtaking as the proverbial cocoon bursting forth with an all new metamorphic-style. His original instrumental pieces strike a balance with well thought elaborate arrangements and textures like the driving acoustic thrash of Ragnarok to the smooth groove of Valkrie to the heart-wrenching AniYunwiya Autumn and beyond. Seth Blevins, an innovative and kinetic young acoustic guitarist and contemporary composer who leaves the listener awestruck by his eclectic instrumental pieces and flamboyant performances. Seth’s genius is his ability to use his music as a tool for self-discovery as well as the means for expressing it.
