Ovation joins the Squeaky Wheel Tour® as a grassroots group of artist’s band together in October and November of 2011 spanning the U.S. and the international community to educate the public about 100’s of missing people focusing on the value of each missing person.

Los Angeles, CA (September 22, 2011)—The Squeaky Wheel Tour® is a program created by “GINA for Missing Persons FOUNDation”. SWT® is an internationally acclaimed concert series to raise awareness for those who go missing every year. This worldwide virtual tour where events are going on all at once throughout the world will feature several hundred missing people highlighted by world wide events. The focus of SWT® is to gain attention for 100’s of missing people in an effort to bring at least ONE home.

The SWT® time frame honors, Gina Bos, who disappeared from Lincoln, NE eleven years ago on October 17, 2000. The tour is the creation of her sister, singer/songwriter-Jannel Rap. Jannel’s heartache became the challenge to gain media attention for her sister and in the process she realized she was not alone. Hundreds of thousands of families had the same challenge. Their cherished loved ones simply vanished with no media hook.

This year during SWT® Jannel is touring throughout the U.S. and Canada as a duo with her son, Elijah. SWT® partners with artists and nonprofits around the world to gain attention for local missing. Since this collective grassroots effort began in 2001 over 1100 people highlighted at these events have been found. Artists and entertainers from Maroon 5, Little Feat, Los Angeles Sparks Basketball, Meatloaf and Ted Lange to local independent artists, local community theater, TV/Radio shows and comedy stores have contributed in some way to help fulfill GINA’s mission.

While GINA Artists are highlighting missing people in other parts of the world, Jannel and Elijah will be in the following locations. In many of those locations artists will be playing an Ovation or a Takamine Guitar while highlighting their missing person. Their performance will be filmed and uploaded daily to be placed on various social media websites and GINA’s website in an effort to educate the public about those particular missing people. They kick off their tour at West LA Music on October 17, 2011.
