New England folk trio String Theorie has been nominated as a finalist in Connecticut’s Grand Band Slam 2012, sponsored by WTXX - Hartford.  The event spans 3 days and 3 different cities. String Theorie will be competing in the Best Folk/Traditional category, and will perform three dates in August in preparation for the announcement of the winners on September 12th in Hartford, Connecticut.

Friday, August 17th: String Theorie opening for the Legendary Gary Higgins at Bridge Street Live!
Bridge Street Live in Collinsville is once again opening their doors to us - and we couldn’t be happier to be opening for the legendary Gary Higgins! His music, once “lost” and unheard of by most, has experienced a recent resurrection after his album “Red Hash” (and Gary himself, in fact) began to be sought after. We highly recommend giving this album a listen to - it’s slightly reminiscent of Nick Drake and Elliot Smith - but still distinctively possesses it’s own sound.
