Kaman music, Sam Ash & Al Dimeola support ATA
On April 18th, representatives from Kaman Music joined Al DiMeola at Sam Ash Music in Margate, FL to present the American Tinnitus Association (ATA) with a check in the amount of $10,000. The donation came from a portion of the sales of 50 autographed Ovation Al DiMeola signature models (1769SA-ADII5) that will be sold exclusively at Sam Ash Music Super Stores.
DiMeola personally selected the American Tinnitus Association as his charity of choice. ATA is committed to curing tinnitus (ringing ears), a condition that affects 50 million Americans. It is a leading funder of tinnitus research, an advocate for those with the condition, and an educational resource for the general public. With loud music being a leading cause of tinnitus, it is no wonder that DiMeola chose to support this worthy organization.
Prior to the presentation, DiMeola and percussionist Gumbi Ortiz performed for and fielded questions from the audience of 200+.
“Ovation guitars has enjoyed our relationship with both Sam Ash and Al DiMeola for many years. We jumped at the opportunity to participate in this event and the chance to support ATA. The fact that loud music is a leading cause of tinnitus and considering the nature of our industry, it is essential that we do our part to educate musicians about this ailment. The money raised by the sale of these exclusive Al DiMeola guitars will help many people afflicted by tinnitus,” said David Bell, National Accounts Manager for Kaman Music.
