Ovation Graces ‘Rock of Ages’
‘Rock of Ages’, the much anticipated movie starring Tom Cruise, based on the hit Broadway show of the same name, taps into the 80’s classic rock scene, incorporating some of the best anthems of the era. Much of the buzz around the film revolves around what turns out to be Tom Cruise’s surprisingly good singing debut as rocker ‘Stacey Jaxx’. The 1984 Ovation Collectors that is in bed with Tom was borrowed from the Ovation factory’s collection, as was the white 1986 Collectors featured in Cruise’s concert performance of Bon Jovi’s ’ Dead or Alive’. Both guitars are back in New Hartford basking in their newfound fame. The vintage Custom Legend in the background of the bedroom scene could well be that of Bob Jesperson who graciously made his personal favorite available for the filming. That classic Ovation makes a more prominent appearance in the hands of Tom Cruise on the cover of the ‘Rolling Stone’ (in the movie). The film hits theaters June 15th.
