In this guitar lesson you will learn a technique known as sweep picking.  It’s a really popular technique with players such as John Petrucci, Michaelengo, Michael Casswell, and Steve Vai because it’s what they use to achieve that really fast playing that blows people’s minds!

The idea of sweep picking is that you use a sweeping motion while simultaneous fretting your desired notes (often an arpeggio scale) to achieve the fastest possible combination of notes.  It’s not easy, but it’s very gratifying to play once it’s mastered.
