Onstage just before soundcheck at opening night of three sold-out hometown gigs at Birmingham’s NEC Arena (20-22 Dec 05) UB40 were delighted to receive their new Ovation instruments. Band leaders and brothers Ali (left) and Robin Campbell (right) received two fabulous matching left-handed L778-5 Elites in black, while bassist Earl Falconer uses a matching black USA Elite bass, with a Celebrity CC074-5 bass as standby. “These guitars look and feel fantastic, and they have such a great sound,” enthused the Campbell brothers. “They’re going to look amazing onstage, too!”
